Before I move onto today's post about the next stop in my Four Countries, One Year journey I'd like to say thank you to all of you who've reached out to me already with your kind words of encouragement and support for the future of Albatroz & Co. It is all so very much appreciated and I want to let you know that it really means a lot to me!!

In case you missed my last blog post explaining the fresh faced Albatroz & Co. and how to navigate the site, you can check it out here. You can also head on over to Twitter and let me know what you think of the new Albatroz & Co. on my poll which will be pinned to my profile if you haven't already or you can leave a comment below too, I'd love to know what's working for you and what isn't.

Moving on to today's post. I have a little secret I've been keeping from you all and I think it's time I came clean. My twitter followers may already know about this although I haven't explicitly said anything yet. Earlier this year I set the challenge to visit four new countries before the end of 2016. So far I have been to Poland and Ghana and next week I fly over to *insert drum roll please* Brussels! For a while back it was looking to be Prague or Croatia but the cost of flights and hotels for the times I was looking at was waaaay beyond my wanting student budget. I settled on Brussels after talking to my work supervisor who strongly recommended it. It was the only place I asked about that I didn't receive mixed reviews about.  The fact that flights and hotel was pretty cheap definitely helped too and the thought of spending my two week holiday in Ireland ( which I do love) knowing I won't get another holiday till sometime next year made me physically shudder. Instead I'll be jetting off to visit family in England for the first few days before hitting the road or sky in this case for Brussels.

I'm set to check-in next Wednesday for 6 nights and I am beyond excited. Travelling solo may seem daunting for some people but there's just something about trying to find your bearings in a new city on your own that awakens some primal survival instinct in me that thrills me to no end. For the next few days I'll be on the search for activities to fill my scant itinerary. If you have any recommendations, tips or advice, I would be super grateful to hear them.

Are you jetting off some place any time soon?

Till next time my pretties xxx

    1. Thank you so much! I loved it so much one of my friends bought it for me on site! Lol

  2. AH! I'm jealous! I've been really wanting to go to Belgium for awhile now. It all looks so pretty! I haven't been, and don't really know anyone who has, but I can totally recommend looking into a free walking tour if you can find one! They're great for either getting your bearings, or for like, supplementing what you've learned about the city :) Take so many pictures!

Also, I love the new look on Albatroz & Co. :) All the changes look great!

    1. I'm so excited Erin! I'm definitely planning on finding some walking and bike tours when I'm out there. And I'll definitely be taking lots of pictures. Hopefully when I get back I'll be able to point you to some lovely places to visit and activities to do when you finally get to Belgium!

  3. I wish I was going somewhere this year, but I will probably be going to Okinawa next spring so there is that! It's amazing that you have been able to travel so much this year. Have fun and be safe!

P.S. I have traveled alone... it was no big deal, really. Just watch out for the obvious things (like you always should in ANY city) and it will be great.

    1. Awh Elizabeth, I'm so sorry to hear you won't be going anywhere this year but at least you have Okinawa next spring to look forward to! I must admit I'm not sure where this is but I'm definitely checking it out now. Lol I'll also definitely be keeping my wits about me in Brussels, I'm super excited for it!

    1. Ibiza! I have very mixed reviews on that place but I'll definitely like to check it out sometime. Europe is actually so great and easy to travel around, there is a train almost everywhere. And thank you so much for your lovely comment about my outfit.

  5. Love Brussels! Ghent is great too if you want to go there!

    1. Thanks Edel! I actually have it on the Itinerary to be the 4th day's activity, I'm really looking forward to it.
