There is a place, not too far from where I live. And at this place is a park with this little waterfall. In fact it looks a lot bigger in person. There is something about the sound of rushing water crashing against rocks that always calms me down. Every now and again I sit by this waterfall just to reflect on life or release whatever kind of worries have been pulling at me.
I love water and always have. From dancing in raging thunder storms in Ghana, in the West coast of Africa, where I was born, to walking under the icy drumming of a good Irish lash of rain, or even simply wading in the sea and trying not to drown, water has always been a love of mine. Calming, cleansing and undeniably dangerous in its power, it's definitely a force to be reckoned with and my favorite and most inspiring element.
Being 17 and not being able to swim is not something I'm happy about. My mother having a fear of large bodies of water wouldn't let my sisters and I quite near it. But come Tuesday I'll be having my first swimming lesson and I seriously cannot wait!!
